Dr. Evancho grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended East Carolina University to study biochemistry and chemistry. She then continued her education at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University where she received her medical degree. Following graduation, she moved to Hartford, Connecticut to complete her residency training at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Throughout her training, she developed a passion for minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and was recognized with the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists Award for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. She is also certified to perform robotic-assisted surgery with the Intuitive da Vinci robotic system.
When not working, Dr. Evancho enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog. They have always wanted to live in the mountains of North Carolina and are thrilled to be moving back home to be closer to both of their families. They hope to spend lots of their time in Asheville’s outdoors – hiking, biking, and kayaking! Dr. Evancho also loves to read and listen to audiobooks and is always looking for new recommendations!
