Informed, Consultative Care

I believe that women should be able to voice their concerns in a safe space and know that someone is really listening to them. If women know how their body works and why a recommended treatment is advised, then they can truly be an active participant in their own care.

The human body is fascinating as a whole but I am specifically amazed by the complexities of the reproductive system. Being an OB/GYN allows me to build a long-term relationship with my patients in a field that has the best combination of conservative, multidisciplinary treatments, procedures and surgeries when required.

Dr. Lindsay Veazey is a North Carolina native, growing up in Winston-Salem. Caring for others has been a passion of hers for most her life and she’s wanted to be a doctor since the age of 6. She joined Laurel OB/GYN in 2012 and has been part of the Laurel family ever since.

Dr. Veazey is a double Tarheel, receiving both her BS in Biology and her MD at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.  During college she took as many literature classes as possible to off-set all of the science classes! Following medical school, she completed her OB/GYN residency at MAHEC in Asheville and fell in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains.  She graduated residency in 2012 and is a current fellow of ACOG, becoming board certified in OB/GYN in 2014.

Dr. Veazey met her husband in college at UNC-Chapel Hill where they both received undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as Tar Heels.  Their two children are being raised in this tradition as Tar Heel faithfuls – including using a Duke Blue Devil camping chair as the time-out chair at home!

Her prior hobbies of reading, watching movies, baking and dancing have transformed into versions that include her children. This generally results in a messy kitchen and dance parties in the den to Disney songs that are fun-filled with lots of laughter and joy.  She now listens to as many audio books as possible so she can “read” during her commutes.

WHAT PATIENTS SAY ABOUT DR. LINDSAY VEAZEY

Dr Veazey truly makes you feel like you have known her for years. My first time meeting her she hugged me and told me how happy she was to have me. I have never had another Doctor go out of their way to make me feel at home. She is so easy to talk to and thorough. I would recommend her to any woman!

I have been a patient of Dr. Veazeys for many, many years now. I have had nothing but great experiences with her. She is caring and so sweet. She has the best bedside manner you can find. You can really tell she cares about her patients. She always spends time answering the questions I have. I truly love her.

Google Review

Dr. Veazey is amazing, smart and takes the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. I never feel rushed or that my concerns are being swept under the rug. I feel like I’m interacting with a best friend every time she walks in the room. She was by my side through my first pregnancy and through my miscarriage.  I cannot express what an amazing doctor and person she truly is.

Dr. Lindsay Veazey loves that the field of OB/GYN utilizes a variety of interventions ranging from conservative management (medications, behavioral changes, physical therapy, acupuncture) to surgical solutions for those who require it.

I am also very excited about the way that the ThermiVa procedure can help minimize painful intercourse as that is a very important but often unaddressed area of Gynecology.
