Emilie was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. As newlyweds, she and her husband moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1995. She attended Queens University of Charlotte to study nursing, obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1998. In 2013, Emilie and her family moved to the Asheville area. After working as a labor and delivery RN for 15 years, Emilie decided to further her education to become a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned a Masters of Science in Nursing degree in 2016 from the University of South Alabama.
Emilie is married to Eric Ogren and they have two sons, Jacob (age 18) and Jackson (age 14). In her spare time, you can find Emilie at a sporting event for one of her sons. Between the two of them, they play football, basketball, and baseball. She is their number one fan! Emilie also enjoys traveling and has been to Australia, Hawaii, Europe, the Caribbean, and recently Central America. In February of 2018, Emilie went on a medical mission trip to Guatemala. While there, she and a group of healthcare providers cared for women in two villages with obstetrical and gynecological concerns. The trip was a life changing experience and showed her that all women have the same basic healthcare needs for themselves and their families.
Emilie is so excited to become a part of the team of caring providers at Laurel Ob/Gyn. She completed a clinical rotation and trained with our dearly missed nurse practitioner, Linda Hingenitz. Emilie hopes to continue Linda’s legacy of compassion and caring for the women of Asheville. She became very familiar with Linda’s “Getting it Right” weight loss program. Emilie plans to refresh the weight loss program at Laurel Ob/Gyn and offer some new tips and strategies for long-term weight loss success.
Emilie will soon be taking new patients!
